Passports and Visas

A passport is needed for all holidays in this
brochure. A valid ten year passport for adults and a minimum
five year full passport for children is required for travel
to Greece. Children under sixteen years are required to have
their own passport unless they are already included on their
parents.
It is important that the name on your passport
matches that on your travel documents.
If any member of your party changes their name between booking
the holiday and the departure date, you must notify us immediately
so that tickets in the new name can be issued. However, when
a name changes to a married name and there is insufficient
time to amend the passport, your marriage certificate must
be carried. If this is not done you may be refused permission
to travel and your insurance will be ineffective. Visitors
who travel to Greece on a charter flight may visit Turkey
or any other neighbouring country for the day but they must
not stay overnight. However, regulations change frequently
and it is best to check with the appropriate Consulate before
your travel.
Non UK passport holders must check with the
consulate if visas are required. These take time so please
apply at least 12 weeks in advance. In all instances it is
the clients' responsibility to ensure that their travel documents
are correct and once a booking is confirmed, any changes
will be subject to our standard booking conditions. If you
hold a non E.U. passport it must be valid for at least three
months after your return date.
Currency

The currency for Greece is Euros. Euro cash
notes and Euro travellers cheques will be available from
the UK banks from this date. However, sterling or any other
currency may also be carried and converted into Euros at
local banks, our representative agents and most supermarkets
as previously. The rate of Euro against sterling at the time
this brochure went to print was 1.40 Euro = £1. For tourists
there are no limits on the amounts of local currency or travellers
cheques in and out of the country. Credit or debit cards
are not generally accepted except in main towns. However
some local agents will accept credit cards for car hire and
excursions. Cash machines are being introduced gradually
but so far they are only available in main towns and not
in every resort we feature but the following do have them:-
Stoupa: One
at our local office in the village, one near Kalogria, another
in Kardamili 10 kms away.
Lefkas:
Lefkas Town and Nidri.
Kefalonia:
Argostoli and Fiscardo.
Crete:
Chania Town.
Paxos:
Lakka and Gaios
Zakynthos:
Tsilivi
Meganissi:
No money changing facility on the island. Nearest Nidri
on Lefkas.
Please
Note: You should not solely rely on ATM’s . They are used
frequently
and often
run out of money, especially in the high season.

All letters to this office must state the name of the principal
on the booking form, your booking reference, date of departure
and the name of your holiday accommodation. Your letters
and telegrams abroad must never be sent to the accommodation
direct. The properties do not have postal addresses. The
owners receive their correspondence by name only. If you
need to send letters to clients on holiday, please mark
the letter with the clients name and their holiday property
name, and our representative will forward your correspondence
to the client. The air-mail post from the UK may take a
week to reach Greece.
Our agent's address will be in the information that we will
enclose with the travel documents.

Vaccination & Health and Safety

At the time of going to print, it is not a
requirement for UK residents to have vaccinations for travel
to Greece. However, regulations may change and it is wise
to contact your travel agent or your doctor to check if any
vaccinations are recommended. Residents of non UK countries
may need valid certificates of vaccinations and they should
seek advice before travel.
Clothing and Other Items to take
with you

Light summer clothing, and of course, swimwear. Although
bath towels are provided in each accommodation, they tend
to be on the small side and if you are really fussy, please
carry your own. Beach towels are not provided.
Other recommended items: a driving licence, credit/debit
cards, a small torch (essential) and a continental adaptor.
Early and late in the season an item of warm clothing is
recommended. Most requisites can be purchased locally, however
you may find them more expensive than at home.
Cost of Food

The cost of food and eating out is still very
reasonable in Greece, and you will find that you use your
kitchens for breakfast and light meals only. An average meal
in Greece would cost approximately £10-£15 per head, however,
costs are very much dependent upon where and what you eat,
fish being particularly expensive, and the price is given
as a guide only for an average meal. Baby foods and imported
items can be expensive but we would strongly advise that
you do not carry any frozen items of food.
Breakdown in electricity supply or a flight
delay can be costly and we are unable to accept responsibility
when this occurs. Current regulations forbid carriage of
dairy or meat products from the UK to Greece.
