GENERAL INFORMATION

On-board meals
* Flights with Monarch do not include on-board meals, a buy on
board facility is available.
Seat Reservation
Most airlines offer group seating and extra leg room seats.
Group seating may cost around £10 per head and extra leg room seats
around £30 per head. Passengers over 6ft. 4" may be exempt from
this charge. We cannot reserve these seats for you, you must
contact the airline direct and we provide their telephone
number/e-mail with our confirmation. In case the airline changes,
we advise you not to book these seats earlier than eight weeks
before your departure date. With group seating, you may be across
the aisle or in an adjoining row and seat numbers are only
allocated at the check in desk before departure. As most extra leg
room seats are adjacent to doors, and to comply with the CAA
regulations, passengers must have an adequate degree of strength,
dexterity and mobility, be over 16 years of age and without hearing
or sight impediment. For Gatwick Kefalonia and Kalamata you may
reserve specic and extra legroom seats on-line at, www.meridianfly.com.
Aircraft and Flights
Although we do not expect major changes to the timings and
period of operations shown, these are nevertheless provisional and
final timings will be shown on your airline tickets.
We do not advise of amendments unless there are material changes
to the flight, or a schedule change of four hours or
more, these will then be advised as soon as they are known to
us. We reserve the right to substitute alternative carriers and/or
aircraft types if necessary, and this may result in a reduction in
weight allowances.
Infant
It is a ruling of the airlines that children must be UNDER TWO
YEARS OF AGE ON THE DATE OF THEIR RETURN TRAVEL to be classed as
infants.
Pregnancy
Most airlines will refuse permission to women to travel who will
be over 28 weeks pregnant on the date of their return travel.
However, it is best to check with the airline concerned and you
must obtain clearance from your doctor.
Baggage Allowance
Final baggage allowance will be shown on your tickets. This is
extremely important because other than collapsible push chairs and
wheelchairs, baggage in excess of these amounts cannot be carried
on the aircraft.
Only one small piece of hand baggage weighing under 11lbs (5Kgs)
may be carried in the aircraft cabin. Infants under two do not have
a separate baggage allowance. Golf clubs are part of your baggage
allowance but airlines would normally allow half sets to be taken
as extra.
Windsurf Boards & Bicycles
Each airline has its own rules for the carriage of windsurf
boards and bicycles and you should contact them at least 2 weeks
before your departure date, as they must have advance notice. Some
airlines will also make a charge payable direct to them. You may
also be required to pay for a return taxi transfer between the
airport and your holiday accommodation as coaches find it difficult
to carry windsurf boards and bicycles as part of the baggage.
Late Arrivals
You must check-in AT LEAST 2 hours before the departure time
shown on your tickets. We will not accept responsibility for any
expenditure incurred for alternative travel arrangements due to
your late arrival at the check-in point. The insurance we offer (if
cover taken) gives some protection if delayed arrival results from
failure of your transport to the airport.
At the time the brochure goes to print, most airlines are only
in a position to give approximate schedules as slots (departure
times) can be changed by Air traffic Control at any time prior to
departure. Barring exceptional circumstances, there are generally
no major changes, but if the times change in excess of two hours to
those previously advised, we will inform you as soon as we are told
of such a change.
Lost Baggage
All airlines use the services of other companies to handle
clients' baggage, and they are dependent upon these companies, such
as Servisair at Gatwick, to ensure that the baggage is loaded
correctly onto each flight. However, with continuous increases in
passenger numbers, errors do occur from time to time and on rare
occasions passengers have found that their bag(s) have been
misrouted.
Because it may sometimes take a few days to reach you, it is
prudent to split clothing and other essential items between two or
more bags, to enable you to manage until the lost bag reaches you.
Do not carry essentials such as medicines in the checked-in
baggage.
Following check-in and for your entire journey, you and your
luggage are the responsibility of your airline, and you are bound
by their terms of carriage, details of which are printed on the
reverse of your airline tickets. We regret that we cannot accept
responsibility for lost or delayed baggage.
Important Note
The captain of the aircraft has a legal right to deny permission
to board to any passenger found to be under the influence of drink
or drugs and who is likely to cause a disturbance to other
passengers and staff. These passengers must make their own travel
arrangements to get home, or, if at the commencement of their
holiday, the holiday may be forfeited and all monies lost.
All our flights are non-smoking.
